Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2012 Collection

A dazzling Victoriana reverie made its way through the myriad of high class outfit parades of the moment. The Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2012 collection lines up a parade of beautiful silhouettes with a restrained and at the same time breath-taking elegance.

The Victorian era with its flamboyant and baroque extravagance lured hundreds of designers into a beautiful fantasy world. Sarah Burton is one of the pioneer style godmothers who decided to dedicate the autumn collection to the cult of the golden decades. The heiress to the throne of the McQueen atelier revealed that the inspiration came, “By researching folk art and Romany art, which then became Spanish, and then it all somehow linked up with Victoriana and fifties couture.” The motto for the new season is definitely 'refinement' and 'stand-out' elegance.

The Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2012 collection follows the progress of the ever-evolving needs of the style armada, however, the atelier also flaunts its loyalty to traditional and age old fashion design patterns. Juggling with ultra-defined shapes and sculpting real style artworks from the otherwise pretty fluid velvet is the real ace in the sleeve of Sarah Burton. Grown-up glamor is fused with the vulnerability of a real princess who wears breath-taking ball gowns and silky coats which accentuate her hourglass figure. Full skirts decorated with crafty embroideries and high-impact appliques make up the core of the memorable collection. Look out for the outfit repertoire which shows you the woman you want to be!

The Victorian Era as the time of glamor left us a generous and dazzling style legacy. Sarah Burton decided to use these gifts and incorporate them into the pre-fall collection. Skirts take the center stage and become the real jewelry pieces of the show. As the designer claims, “They are kind of velvet wheels, I suppose!”. The belted mid-section along with the voluminous silhouette give these haute couture dresses and skirts a revolutionary and luxurious feel. With the chosen chromatic palette the visionary designer uses to preserve the Renaissance and slightly understated aura of these ensembles. Aubergine, black, burgundy and last but not least oxblood red are the only hues used to set the perfect atmosphere of this reverie.

Despite the abundance of colors used by other designers to help us break with the tradition of a gloomy season chromatic palette, Sarah Burton cultivates a more temperate style of color selection and sticks to universally-flattering shades. Adding a few ultra-impressive and floor-sweeping evening gowns to the collection proved to be a remarkable weapon to melt the heart of all red-carpet-worthy fashionistas.

Back to the day job: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley shows her Animale side as she hits the catwalk for Sao Paulo fashion week

She's more likely to be seen kissing and cuddling boyfriend Jason Statham these days than walking a catwalk, but it seems Rosie Huntington-Whiteley hasn't given up on her day job just yet.

The stunning model, 24, walked the runway during the Sao Paulo Fashion Week in Brazil on Thursday, strutting her stuff in a variety of outfits for the Animale Show.

Rosie flashed her cleavage in a low-cut sheer white camisole with satin detailing and matching trousers as she proved exactly how she has made a name for herself as one of the world's most foremost fashion models.

Rosie, who recently made her acting debut in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, also wore a lightweight strappy black dress with patterned detailing for her other turn on the catwalk.

The frock was embellished with coloured jewels as Rosie showed what she does best, letting her cheekbones do the talking as she wowed the crowd at the event.

The Victoria's Secret stunner was spotted leaving Los Angeles for the South American city earlier this week.

She left LAX wearing trousers and a leather jacket, while she was obviously already getting in the animal spirit with a leopard print scarf.

And she was fresh from partying over the weekend in celebration of the Golden Globes, where she was joined by Statham at The Weinstein Company's After Party at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday.
The stars were joined by other celebrities at the bash, including Meryl Streep, Sean 'Diddy' Combs and Jessica Alba.

Roberto Cavalli Spring 2012 Lookbook

There's never a dull moment when taking a look at a collection put together by the Roberto Cavalli luxury label. Filled with bursts of bold, vivid tones, eye-catching prints and a very distinguishable sophisticated femininity allure, the spring 2012 lookbook manages to maintain and even surpass our expectations with a truly memorable array of style options.

Bold, intriguing, challenging and perhaps a little overwhelming but never boring seem to be the mission statements the Italian fashion house Roberto Cavalli seems to be guided by in bringing majestic designs and challenging our style limits with each collection. For the spring 2012 season, the designer treats us with a hefty dose of animal prints that are an indispensable style staple for the brand in the recent seasons. A celebration of color, sexiness and joy makes the collection unforgettable and easily recognizable even at a fairly superficial glance.

Leopard prints are a central motif of the Cavalli spring 2012 collection being highlighted in several ways through the lookbook. From the loud, look-at-me type of attitude to the more subtle style cues and everything in between, the lookbook offers a comprehensive lesson in the proper ways to wear animal prints in order to exude sophistication and refinement. Fitted dresses, girly skirts, summery jackets or tops and of course matching bold accessories all blend together for an exuberant vibe and an ultra fashionable allure.

While the daring tones are the ones that most tend to capture one's attention, they are by no means the only thing that makes the fabulous designs so mesmerizing. Unexpected sheer details, textural contrasts, feminine fabrics such as lace and well defined cut-outs are some of the more subtle yet crucial elements that help produce a picture perfect outfit style.

Evening dresses are also briefly highlighted throughout the lookbook being a true symbol of high class and elegance. Although more toned down compared to casual attire, these alluring long dresses still require significant levels of confidence in order to be worn. Bold tones and high splits are definitely not for the faint hearted as they instantly become the center of attention.

Other print styles included are snake prints and floral prints. If snake prints are combined to be fairly subtle, floral prints are a whole other story. In a dominant color tone with minor variations or in wild combos, these prints are anything but traditional looking. Forget discretion and barely distinguishable prints for the upcoming months and focus on expanding your style limitations instead.

Accessories follow the same route the lookbook is built on. Whether we are talking about oversized handbags or clutches, the bold tones and edgy print styles and exotic skin texture unquestionably dominate. Footwear options focus on reasonably comfy sandals perfectly adapted to the outfit style while chunky necklaces and bracelets complete the looks to perfection.
